Sensor for locating ferromagnetic metal parts in flows of materials

Machine downtimes and costly machine damage caused by ferromagnetic objects that get into the crops from the field eat into your profit. Old fence wire remnants in animal feed put the health of animals at risk.

Risk minimisation with WTK metal sensor:

  • Tin cans, fence wire remnants, scrap and bicycle parts... or similar ferro-magnetic foreign bodies are detected in good time and kept out of the crop/feed to prevent damage to the machine.
  • Not suitable for non-ferrous metals, stainless steel (VA) or inactive iron objects.

This is how it works:

  • The sensor works according to the principle of magnetic induction and contains integrated electronics. The sensor design and signal evaluation developed by WTK guarantees a high detection rate.
  • The detection of ferromagnetic parts in flows of material is a technically difficult task. Reliability depends on the machine design, the sensitivity setting, the speed, the geometric shape and position of the iron object and reliable processing of the switch and CAN BUS signal.
  • Sensor and machine must be adjusted to one another individually.
  • Switching output to stop the machine and CAN BUS connection for data exchange

  • CAN interface V 2.0 B active, active internal bus termination possible
  • Response time for STOP CAN message and STOP switching output depends on size and speed of the foreign object and the selected sensitivity, but a maximum of 15 ms from passing the sensor level
  • Sensitivity can be configured via CAN or manually in 16 steps
  • Working mode: Fixed thresholds or adaptive to environmental disruptions
